we have been busy getting settled in around her- it is unbelievable how hard it is to go from a BIG house to a little apartment. We LOVE our new place.. I have been sewing curtains, collecting rugs, and hanging artwork like a mad woman. Hopefully we will be able to take pictures soon- it is just not quite there yet. Trevor spent last week in New York?! it was a surprise last minute trip he was invited to go on with his school, Alianza Academy. They went to NY to visit a bunch of other schools that have a similar curriculum to them. They didn't get much free time, but they did get to meet

ELMO!! hazel was totally jealous when she heard over the phone who papa got to see! She has this picture framed in her room now. :)
Other than trying to make the house feel like home we have been busy visiting lots of friends and family. We have also been baking up a storm. We made the most DELICIOUS banana bread with chocolate and candied ginger (Trevor LOVES ginger) the Recipe is HERE.
Hazel has been talking SO much more than ever, she copies me all day long whatever I say. She kept saying "habbie ballimtyindaaaaai" on valentines day. It was so cute. The other day I wrote down a few of her most used phrases (phonetically)

I have not posted any updates in a while, so bare with me- this is a long one!

she was so funny driving around to visit all our families. she kept putting her finger into this clementine, then she would laugh and laugh.

she slept well that night! exhausted from all the attention and playing.

i love this photo of her- she was sooo excited to be there, and the expression she has here is not one i would have predicted. anxious with excitement? I had to whip up a swim suit for her because we kept forgetting to bring hers.


I couldn't get hazels face because she never stopped jumping and flailing about - but she had the greatest time of her life at the pool- I kept thinking man, we should have skipped all the christmas gifts and took her to the pool.

Hazel is quite the whipersnapper these days. I chase her around all day. She constantly pushes limits - especially if she is doing something she knows she shouldn't be doing. Yesterday she was sitting in my shopping cart going through my purse, she found my wallet and immediately hid it from me and said 'no no mama wallet', Today I watched her find a crayon and she whispered "no no hazey" as she colored on a box that I had just packed up. Speaking of boxes, we are moving into a house in Salt Lake on Saturday! We are so excited! Trevor's Job is going great and we are so happy to be closer to his work! No more heinous commuting! I will post more soon!

Trevors amazing family has welcomed us with open arms- we aren't sure how long we will be here, but it is so wonderful knowing that we have there support and love in our lives. We have not really been looking for places up in salt lake yet, because we have so many different bills (and debts), weighing down on our shoulders we need to get our feet back on the ground, then tackle a new house.

Trev took a job working for a start up charter school and he is loving it. It has been LONG hours since he leaves at 6 am to bike to the bus, that takes him to trax in salt lake then he bikes from there to his school. He doesn't get home till around 6 pm.

I have been trying to get more and more photography jobs. It has been going really well so far, but I need more, more, more, so if you know anyone interested!? I also started selling vintage children's clothes online (beehivebabies.etsy.com)

Hazel and I have been keeping busy eating ice cream, and going up to the zoo, and th.e children's museum and lots and lots of trips to the DI. (our thrift store) She yells "YEAHHH" when we drive into the parking lot. She fills the cart with toys and sits and plays while I shop.

We have had been keeping extremely busy these past few months.. In august we moved out of 'hazel's house' It was really hard and sad to leave Provo behind. It has been home to us for 6 years! We have different memories down every street. I cried and cried the whole drive away. We actually weren't scheduled to have to be out of the house till the end of august, but I was getting more and more depressed thinking about all our friends and wonderful home that we had established here over the years. So we made an impromptu decision to skip town early. I just could not face the sad weeks to come.

missed out on fathers day.... in fact i forgot that it was fathers day all together. Well i did have presents, I knew it was on the way - i just had forgotten that it was last Sunday. I woke up at 6 in the morning with hazel and deliriously made us cereal and oatmeal - needless to say i did not make trevor anything special. when he woke up around 8:30 he was all confused and said 'you didn't make breakfast?' I was so mad - i had been up all that time wrestling with hazel.. I told him to make himself cereal if he wanted to eat. then he said something like 'on all other days you make breakfast and today of all days you don't' ha ha dummie me. I didn't ever clue in until we got to church. sheesh. well to make up for that- and also for forgetting to mention our 5 year anniversary i wanted to write out a little something in honor of my man.

trevor is the greatest man in the world. he never complains, he is always willing to help me in any way that i need him. he has never missed anything important in my life, even embarrassing softball games. he always remembers any birthdays or anniversary's - and he will subtly remind me when he realizes that i forget. (it happens all the time) trevor is the perfect match to me. he fills in all my weaknesses and faults with different weaknesses and faults, and i love him for that. we are not perfect, we never have been - and probably never will be, but I feel complete and whole only when I have him around. he is the greatest father to hazel. he loves and adores her with a gentle kindness that i can not believe. he has come into it with not much experience at all, and has become the most wonderful man that i could have ever dreamed to imagine. he is the best. he makes me happier than i have ever been in my life. I know he loves me and hazel and would do anything to protect us. we are safe with him around. I am so lucky to have him. i love him more and more as time passes on. it does not feel like 5 years has past. but it also feels like we have already lived a lifetime together. i know that i can get through anything with him by my side, and i am so grateful for the comfort that gives me. i love trevor and i can not wait to live the rest of my life with him.

we had a crazy week- hazey and I went to bear lake with trevor's family. Trevor had to stay and work- he is working on a movie set for the church, and having lots of fun. It has been really long days, he leaves our house at 6:15 am and doesn't get home till 6:15 pm. I can not believe how spoiled we have been in the past. we have always spent the majority of our time together, as of now it is very much the opposite. Right after bear lake we had a wedding to get to- that sucked up all of my energy and left me totally sick and exhausted. Today haze and I are spending the day on the couch watching movies.

My parents are home from Switzerland!! I am so happy to have them back it is sooo nice. Here are some photos from abby's birthday last week:

We have had some exciting changes this past month- Yesterday we had a meeting up in salt lake at the library for Trevor's new job! It does not start till August, but it is sooo exciting. He is going to be a Learning Coach at a charter school called Alianza Academy, this also happens to be the school that my dad is coming home to teach at. Trevor's school is in Magna.. so it will be a bit of a commute. We are planing on moving up to Salt Lake as soon as we can find a good place to live! We are so excited to be starting a new chapter in our lives. It will be really sad to leave behind our wonderful house and close friends and family though!

Hazel has been taking swimming lessons! she is doing so good, she moves her arms and holds her breath.. she can hang onto the edge by herself, and she can even pull herself over the edge to get out. She screams with joy the entire time the we are in our class. She is getting a little too confident because she always tries to jump out of my arms.. she thinks she can swim by herself, but really if she can figure out the whole kicking thing she will be swimming in no time.

My parents are coming home in one week!! I am so excited to have my family back, it has felt like they have been gone for 10 years. We have been working every day to get things done for their new house! it is looking very beautiful this time of year! here is a little preview:

I made this for a friend of mine who was having a baby shower- this was a gift for her older daughter - I had so much fun making the baby's gift that I made a little something for big sister too.

trevor makes these amazing molecules.

DIY banner tutorial

YOU WILL NEED: elmers glue and/or a glue stick Newspaper* Tissue Paper* Sissors* Hole Punch * Thick cord or pipe cleaners* Optional hot glue gun* Sparkles* Yarn or string*


You want to use a glue stick (or elmers glue and a foam brush) and glue the tissue paper to the slightly larger newspaper strips.

after the glue has dried fold the strips into an accordian

then tie them off in the middle (pipe cleaners are the easiest things to use)

then you add glue to one side of the accordion> you can use a glue stick, elmers glue, or a hot glue gun<

-Press firmly-

After the one side dries, carefully glue the other side

at this point you will want to aplly your letters you simply glue them onto the center. I got my letters from the martha stewart website and printed them for free at home (HERE) is the link to her site.

make a puddle of elmers glue - i made mine on wax paper to keep it clean

dip your edges in the puddle of glue carefully coating all sides.

place the glued fan onto a surface that can collect the sparkles

pour sparkles all over the edges.

once done aplying the sparkles keep it where it is so that you can dump the remaining sparkles onto the next fan.


grab several of your folds and punch a hole through them (make sure the letter is facing up)

string and enjoy!

you MUST go see this, it is amazing. our neighbors put this live nativity on in there back yard- it was so much fun. Everyone dresses up, and there are live animals all around. I wish I could show all the projects that I have been working on this Christmas, but most of them are presents and it would not make much sense to spoil the surprises.. soo here are a few things I have been working on that are not secret..

We just ordered hazel's christmas present!! (that is right she is only getting one) I think I am more excited to play with it than she will be-- ha ha. Oh well anyway, for those family members who were wondering what to get for the little baby bee here are some things she would like/ needs::

We are having a party at our house this friday for kya (trevor's nephew)!! It is his birthday- and I have been really wanting to have a Halloween party anyway. So we have been making lots of things to prepare.. Last night we made these goodie bags from potato stamps- for his friends to take home: -- instructions here I made these spooky invites out of this font Here they are:

Today is hazel's six month birthday. It has, just like everyone said it would, flown by. I can not believe that she has already gotten so big. She sits up on her own, and has almost figured out how to crawl. Yesterday I went to get her from out of her crib and she was holding on to the side rail pulling herself up to stand. Every exciting new thing she does is fun, but it also makes me a little sad to leave the world of infancy behind.

we took hazel on another campout, and this time she did SO well, she slept perfectly and we were very cozy despite the freezing weather.

the other day I went to check on hazel, she had been playing in her crib and this is what I found, a sleeping babe.

Hazels hair is growing SO much every day, this photo was from a few weeks ago, you can get the idea of what it is like up close..

last weekend, we were taking hazel out and about, and she had been drinking from her bottle, but we pulled it out while we were driving and put it between her legs. the next thing we know, she has managed to weasel the bottle up to her arms, and she is trying and trying to get the bottle in her mouth, but her binkie was in the way- we decided not to intervene and voila!- she spit out her bink and popped her bottle in! nice one hazel.

hazel has her first tooth!! it is coming in!!! I can not believe how excited it made me when I realized what was going on. I have touched it like 300 times already today, and hazel has been quite the sport, but now I have ruined my chances of getting a picture of it- maybe later this weekend- Way to go HAZEL!!

hazel is becoming SO vocal, recently she has taken to yelling and yelling for no reason. they are happy yells- so we just let her roar, this morning she was using a quite little voice.. she is not so quiet in the video though she gets excited when the camera comes out.

hazel is growing like crazy, she is on the verge of sitting up by herself. She LOVES food and she is always trying to eat whatever it is that we are eating. So far she eats rice cerial, squash, fruit and juice. Her hair is growing so fast. It is perfectly even all over her head. She grabs at anything and everything that comes her way. On her 5 month birthday she made sleeping all the way through the night! YES!! she had been keeping it up for the past few days... we are trying not to get our hopes too high as I am sure it is just a stage she will grow out of.
We went to a harry potter party and dressed hazel up as baby harry potter. I made a death eater cake.. it was most likely poisonous as we all felt sick after eating it.. except malfoy. From L-R Jillian was Trelawney, Kya was Kreacher, Tosh was Neville, Edan was Malfoy, Trevor was Lupin, and Hazel was baby Harry Potter, I was Tonks..

Trevor started school last week and he made it home past 6 almost every single night. It is hard to get adjusted to such an long schedule but he is excited to be back into the art world. He is taking tons of very intense BFA art classes. He is also a TA for one of his favorite professors Peter Everett, Here is some of Peter's work you can see why trevor likes him. Trevor it also working full time. He is such an amazing man I am so helplessly in love with him. He is the best father and greatest man and I love him more and more every day. Hazel is crazy for trevor, she lights up every time he comes home.

I got a job a few weeks back, and have been tortured leaving hazel. I do not see the point in leaving her, I know that I need to make money but leaving her is not working out. So I am leaving my job behind and going full force into freelance photography work. I am really excited and nervous, but it is the right thing to do. I am also working on selling more and more books I have my etsy website going, but I am going to try and sell more to stores and that sort of thing.

We are off camping tonight to timpanookie (i think).. I can't wait. I will post photos of that later!
